Welcome Back to the Pump House

Bristol Beer Factory are pouring some love into one of Bristol’s most iconic venues.

Like everyone in this city, the team at BBF love a beer by the harbour. So we are very excited to welcome the Pump House into the Bristol Beer Factory Pub Co Family. ‘The Pump House is an iconic Bristol harbourside venue,’ says BBF Managing Director Sam Burrows, ‘and we want to bring some proper buzz back to it.’ Doing this starts with one simple change: getting rid of table service. Feel free to order at the bar.

No more waiting twenty minutes for a pint.

No more paying service charge for a pint.

In fact, the next time you visit the Pump House you’ll be paying less for a pint, because we’ve lowered prices across the bar. ‘We want to make the Pump House more inclusive,’ Sam says, ‘and that means making pints more affordable.’

While you’re at the bar, you’ll find all your favourite BBF beers plus a rotating selection from local breweries, a cracking line of local spirits, and a fun and funky wine list. We’ve also got a popup outdoor bar for daytime matches, so you can grab yourself a takeaway pint for the walk over to Ashton Gate.

PROPER PUB, PROPER FOOD

In the kitchen, we’re bringing BBF approachability and informality to the Pump House’s well-deserved status as a foodie institution. Think small plates, pub classics, and the second-best sourdough in Bristol according to Bristol food hero Josh Eggleton. We source locally wherever possible and everything on our menu is made from scratch -- including the bread.

And yep, no more formal table service. Ordering food at the Pump House now works pretty much the same as in any other pub. Walk in, find yourself a table, order food at the bar, tell us where you’re sitting, and we’ll bring the food over to you. If you’re sitting outside we’ll give you a buzzer and we’ll come and find you when it’s ready.

Sundays are the exception -- we’ll continue traditional table service for our bangin’ roast dinners.

PARTY AT THE PUMP HOUSE?

Bringing the Pump House into the Bristol Beer Factory family also means you’ve got another cracking venue to hire for your events, parties and other organised merriment. The Pump House has an upstairs room that can host up to 70 people within a gorgeous 19th century Victorian pumping house.

Over the next few months, you’ll notice some exciting changes at the Pump House. New rugs. New light fixtures. A fresh coat of paint. Sam is dreaming up some outdoor cooking setups… But we all know it’s the people that make a pub.

So drop by the venue, grab yourself a pint, and help us bring big BBF energy back into the Pump House.

Cheers Bristol.
