When it comes to giving back to our community, we’re leading the charge.
However, when it comes to giving back to our planet, we’re only at the start of our journey. Brewing beer is a centuries-old tradition and typically it’s not been all that sustainable. So as the impacts of climate breakdown accelerate, and the role of business in driving change becomes more apparent, we know we need to do more.

PUBS AS HUBS
Based in South Bristol, BBF pioneered independent beer in our home city. Built on a passion for pubs, we continue to support venues with a laser focus on raising up these vital community spaces.
With 82% of our entire production being delivered to these local venues we work with the pubs to create a space for their community to step away from the day-to-day and be totally present with their people. They're your local.

People are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s our incredible community or our amazing team, we’re committed to putting people at the centre of our decisionmaking.
This means we’ve taken lots of steps to ensure we’re as good for folk as we can be. From creating the best workplace for our staff to looking after our customers, we're in it for you.
BREWED TO GIVE
We wear the Bristol name as a badge of honour. We live, breathe and brew this city. Now it's time for us to pour back.
Every time you buy a beer from BBF you're giving back to this city through Brewed to Give, our self-imposed tax of 2% on total brewery sales which we invest in groups that raise up people and places across Bristol.
CLEAR HEAD & TALK CLUB
Bristol's Alcohol Free IPA Clear Head pours purpose. Created in collaboration with Talk Club, we work hand-in-hand to support mental health, to get more men talking in an environment that feels safe. That is often the pub.

WORKING TO CAN OUR CARBON
Measuring, monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint is key in the marathon to Net Zero. In partnership with Zevero, we are able to consider emissions at every stage of our journey.

Our first Impact Report
The first BBF impact report for 2022/23 was our opening statement and our marker in the sand. Bringing you the entire view of BBF, a space which represents everything this brewery strives for. It’s a chance for us to showcase the areas where we’re strong and to be transparent on the areas where we know we need to improve. Because even though we've come a long way, we’ve still got work to do.

Change is brewing
We’re beginning the marathon to Net Zero. That’s because we acknowledge the severity of the climate crisis and know that as a manufacturer we have a significant role to play. We've done everything we can within the limitations of brewing in a historic Victorian brew site, we have to be brewing in a space that allows us to affect serious change.
BBF will be operating from a brand new site in 2025. The move gives the brewery space to breathe and aids our ongoing commitment to sustainability. We have invested in technology and equipment which will ramp down our kg/litre of carbon used and reduce our impact on the environment with every pint we brew.
