We’re Caring at Christmas. Are you?

BBF and Bristol’s other independent breweries are as much a part of the city’s foundations as its colourful houses and harbour skyline. Wander through the neighbourhoods and you’ll find taprooms tucked under railway arches, sustainably focused set-ups humming in warehouses, microbreweries busting out of garages, and pubs pouring fresh pints made just a stone’s throw away. This is a city where craft beer isn’t a trend but a culture, rooted in communities and supporting its people. 

Since May 2023, we have RAISED OVER £600,000 for Bristol charities by brewing world-class beer and DONATING 2% of sales to local causes! Drink great beer, support great things. It’s the Brewed to Give way.

Normally, we donate beer and kit so charities can turn our pints into pounds. But when we heard about Caring in Bristol’s Christmas Appeal, we knew beer wasn’t what they needed. For 35 years, Caring in Bristol has been a lifeline during the hardest season of the year. When many of us hunker down with friends, family and a loaded fridge, the Caring in Bristol team are out there, providing support and enabling dignity to people experiencing homelessness. Last year alone, they welcomed 500+ guests and served 1,400 meals over 7 days including Christmas day.

We heard they were in need of soft-drinks and cash, and fast! So, we immediately pledged £350. Simple. But we got to thinking that we could use our platform to leverage cash from other indie businesses. A few phone calls and a couple of emails later and that’s exactly what happened. Arbor Ales, Left Handed Giant, Lost and Grounded Brewers, and Good Chemistry Brewing have joined forces with us to support Caring at Christmas.

TOGETHER WE'VE DONATED £2,000 which will provide 65 people with a hot meal, warm, safe space and other essential services including clothes, advice and healthcare.

Why? Because we are Bristol and we look after our own.

Our community needs us more than ever before. This city has a network of innovative, inclusive and reliable charities holding up people and communities. But these charities are facing significant strain due rising demand for services, surging operating costs, and decreasing funding opportunities. Giving back is the right thing to do.
