Antlers Out: AC Moose Kick Off the Season in Our Colours

There’s something special about a new kit on opening day. Fresh shirts, fresh hopes and a few nerves. This Saturday 24th October, AC Moose pull on their brand new kit for the first home game of the season, and we couldn’t be prouder to be on the front of it.

Their First Team host Almondsbury FC in the Alf Bosley Cup, and we’ll be cheering from the sidelines (with a well-earned pint to follow, naturally).

More than just a football club

AC Moose are a grassroots men’s adult football club, founded in Bristol in 2021 with an inclusive, welcoming approach at their heart. Since then they’ve grown into something much bigger than your standard Sunday-league side. As Club Chairman Zac Schroder puts it:

“We’ve created a place where people can come as they are, feel accepted, know that they belong and, most importantly, have fun.”

That spirit runs through everything they do, guided by four core values: respect, integrity, inclusivity and fair play. Everyone at the club is treated with dignity and welcomed regardless of background, ability or experience. They compete properly and play to win, but how they treat the people around them matters just as much as the result.

In practice, that means a mistake on the pitch is met with encouragement rather than criticism. It means football that’s somewhere people genuinely look forward to coming to, where friendships are built and everyone feels part of something. It’s why the club has grown so quickly from a small 5-a-side team into a thriving community, and why we were so keen to get involved.

A partnership that just makes sense

As part of Brewed to Give - our pledge to donate 2% of every brewery sale back to local charities and groups - we support a number of grassroot sports teams that are moving mountains to be more inclusive. AC Moose is one of those, bringing people together and making their corner of Bristol a bit brighter.

For us, it’s an easy fit. We believe in community, in creating positive experiences, and in the simple joy of getting people together over something good, whether that’s a match on a Saturday or a beer afterwards. Zac says it better than we could:

“There’s a real alignment between our values and theirs, particularly around community, bringing people together and creating positive experiences for the people around us. Their support isn’t just about what we do on the pitch; it’s about believing in what we’re trying to build off it too.”

And they’re thinking big. The club’s ambition is to grow beyond an adult men’s team, with plans to introduce different sections in the future and build an even bigger, more inclusive football community.

The new kit

Seeing our name on their kit is a proud moment for everyone at the brewery. Zac says the backing gives the club “the opportunity to continue growing the club, breaking down barriers and showing that grassroots football can be competitive while still being a genuinely positive, welcoming and inclusive place to be.”

Cheers to that!
