The United States of Grill

Independence Day!

Our second barbeque of the summer will make just a small nod to our cousins over the pond.  The food will be big and bold in smoky flavours and the beer won’t be shy either.

It’s going to be loud and brash but damn fine eatin’ and drinkin’ for everyone. Musical delights will no doubt include the odd hit from Dolly or Garth but I think we’re going to draw the line (dancing) just there.

East Bristol Brewery Trail

Back for another year, this feature of the Bristol brewing scene is a great day out for those who love their beer, or if your just curious. Our friends at Good Chemistry, Arbor, Moor, Left Handed Giant and Dawkins will be showcasing their wares. Although we’re not on the official route, a beer inspired trip to this part of Bristol wouldn’t be complete without popping in to The Mow to sample our extensive range from our fine city and the rest of the world. We will be open until 11.30pm on Saturday and 10.30pm Sunday so there’s no need to go home early.

Our kitchen will be open all day on Saturday if you feel the need to soak up some of the fine libations you have been enjoying; and fingers crossed for a sunny day because we have a hankering to get our barbeque out of storage. And of course we’ll be serving up our legendary roast on Sunday, be sure to book a table to make sure you don’t miss out.

Crafternoon Tea

Forget everything you know about afternoon tea because the guys from Foozie have taken the concept, turned it on its head and thrown typical Foozie rebellion all over it.

So, you can forget dainty cucumber sandwiches, scones and fancy teacups.  We’re talking chunky beef and horseradish sandwiches, epic scotch eggs, massive sausage rolls and stodgy stout cake served on a three-tier slate cake stand and accompanied by some of the best craft beer in town.

We’ve teamed up with the mighty Foozie and will be hosting these events in the Tap Room.  Food will be provided by lunch gods Sandwich Sandwich.  Not only will you get an incredible selection of sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats but you’ll also get a beer flight of three x 1/3 beers within the ticket price.  We’ll also be playing an epic playlist to create some awesome daytime vibes.

Tickets are £23 (you will need to book), check the Foozie website for all the details.
