After 20 years here at 291 North Street, we’re both sad and excited to say we have outgrown the brewery and are looking to move, but not far, as we are determined to stay in BS3.
Later this year we will be moving the tap room a few doors down the road to the Old Brewery, and in September, will be moving the brewery to the Ashton Vale Trading Estate.
To help facilitate the move and to best control what comes next (in terms of scale and design) we are working with a local team on a heritage led planning application that looks at:
- Restoring the old crumbling brewery tower and turning it into co-working space;
- Redeveloping the building into a Tobacco Factory style, four storey building on North Street with retail on the ground floor;
- Creating 105 new flats for Bristol School of Acting students that would be above and behind in low mews styles cottages and a brewery style conversation block.
We’re the first to admit that we’re not developers but having been here so long, we’re determined to leave a legacy and see this as the best way to do that. We’ve brought on board a local team of design experts who understand our vision. The plan would be to secure an outline planning permission and then sell it to someone who shares our vision and love for North Street.
